Since 2007, Pearl Jam has always been my safe space, the room I can step into whenever I need to feel sheltered. The band has inspired me musically as much as they’ve inspired me to care for relationships and the importance of activism. Their relevance in my life has come and gone over the years but whenever I hear that vibrato, those grooves from Mr. Irons or that F-sharp chord from Last Exit, I know I’m home.
